HOW WE WORK

Trestle is here to help teams understand their technology gaps, and offer guidance & support to help build capacity for strategic and thoughtful tech-enabled programs

OUR WORK LOOKS LIKE…

Quickly getting big tech projects on track

  • Swiftly fixing gaps and vulnerabilities in on-going web, app, or software projects.

  • Hands-on design, user experience, software engineering, scalability, and product strategy.

  • Evaluate if it’s best to build something from scratch or use an off-the-shelf tool.

Crisis response & surge support

  • Identify and triage problems in uncertain, high-pressure situations

  • Quickly assemble teams of seasoned, dedicated technologists trained in organizing challenges to solve emergency issues or fill staffing gaps

Building better approaches to tech for organizing

  • Dive deep into an organization’s tech strategy, including staffing, tooling, and decision making.

  • Recommend digital security best practices that fit needs and constraints of organizers.

  • Use human-centered design to improve volunteer, member & voter engagement.

  • Suggest ways to save money, improve process and empower staff.

Growing tech capacity

  • Guidance on RFPs, JDs and support in hiring process for hiring in-house tech teams;

  • Tech coaching & mentoring for org leaders running organizing programs that lean on technology

  • Mentorship for team members to level up their tech/design skills

TRESTLE DISCOVERY SPRINTS

Many of our collaborations start with short discovery sprints aimed at helping organizations assess the risks and challenges of a technology product, program or infrastructure, and to lay out tangible paths forward.

These sprints can range from a holistic look into how an organization is approaching its technology to a focused dive into a single topic, feature or product — such as the viability of an old system, the security risks of specific software, or the user experience of volunteer tools.

Discovery sprints are led by small multi-disciplinary teams of technologists and tailored to the question at hand.
